Inventory of Adult Lithops

Tonight, I brought the adult Lithops inside and catalogued them before putting them under lights for the winter.  I thought I’d share!  I feel blessed to have such an amazing collection.  I can’t wait to add our ‘Peppermint Cremes’ to the roster 🙂

‘Lava Flow’

I’ve been neglecting you guys a bit so here’s a little treat!  Karasmontana ‘Lava Flow’ at 1 year and 10 months of age.  They are doing very well 🙂

2014 Karasmontana ‘Opalina’

Eight months ago, I sowed a pot with a bunch of misc. seed packets I had laying around.  There were Verruculosa ‘Rose of Texas’, Karasmontana ‘Opalina’, and Fred’s Red Head seeds.  The Fred’s Red Head turned out to be Albinica (grrrr…) but the ‘Rose of Texas’ and ‘Opalina’ sowed true to type!  The ‘Opalina’ was the first to germinate and the first to shed and it was STUNNING!  I was so looking forward to a pot full of these guys!  Unfortunately, only one out of ten germinated.  Meh, at least it’s pretty 🙂

Karasmontana ‘Opalina’ is a BIG Lithops so maybe it’s a good thing this little guy was a singleton!

Karasmontana “Opalina”

Now this is a BIG seedling!  ‘Opalina’ is, in general, a large Lithops but this six month old baby takes the prize for largest seedling!  It is dwarfing everyone else in the pot.  So far, I only have one, but I’m hoping for more.  I think I sowed 10 seeds so anywhere between 3 and 7 would be nice  🙂
