I have been MIA for many months now!  I think I mentioned that I was moving.  Well, that was a nightmare – haha!  Anyway, I’m back on my feet and thought I’d update on the 2014 Lithops.

I lost quite a few Lithops during my move, but the 2014 lot remained unharmed 🙂

Since settling into the new house, my Lithops have been somewhat neglected.  I have wall to wall windows, but because I’m in a forest and my house has an overhanging roof, I don’t actually get a lot of sunlight.  I had to put the Lithops in a South facing basement window.  They were pretty high up and being all of 5’2″ myself, it wasn’t easy to check on them.  Suffice it to say, they didn’t get ANY water all summer!  And guess what, they did awesome!!!

I am now in the process of setting up artificial lights for the Winter.  I have a three season sunroom where they will live next Summer so hopefully my light issue won’t be as much of an issue next year as it was this year.  Today they had their last drink of water until Spring.

    Welcome back and congrats!
They’re looking good! -I wish I could say the same for mine.
A chipmunk pulled the clump and ran off to eat them. I found the mostly chewed remains a few weeks later but I think they’re too far gone. Maybe I’ll have to finally give the seed route a try, you’ve got enough inspiration here to tempt me!

I’m sorry to hear about your chipmunk problem. I have them here too, but so far, they are content to sit in the tree and chatter at me as I go about my business! I’m happy I’ve inspired you though. Growing Lithops from seed is very satisfying! 🙂
