Dorotheae – 2014 & 2015

28 Nov

I ended up with only two Dorotheae ‘Zorro’ seedlings surviving out of ten seeds.  They are very different from each other so I’ll be interested to see how they mature.  The pink one is easy to identify because it has a perfect little red ‘x’ on one lobe.

The 2014 plants continue to do well.  The ‘Zorro’ is, of course, stunning, but check out the plant at the top left of the photo.  Wow!  🙂

beautiful! One day Iʻd like to try growing this gorgeous cultivar. However, I think it is Lithops dorotheae, rather than “dortheae” as you currently have it, easy enough to edit your post… 😉

Ah, yes. Small typo. Thanks for catching that!

I absolutely love this cultivar. I do find they have a low germination rate though and it’s hard to find reliable sellers who will sell more then 10 seeds at a time. That’s why I was hoping to propagate my own one day. For that, I will need at least two near perfect plants. So far, I have one. I think I will be sowing more Zorro seeds in 2016 :/
