When to Water – Part II

One of my pots has some mature Lithops in different stages of their annual renewal process so I snapped a quick pic for educational purposes.  Some of you may not know what we mean when we say, “don’t water until the old leaves have dried to a papery sheath”.  This is what we mean…

The L.Dorotheae at the bottom of the photo have fully absorbed their old leaves.  The L.Karasmontana ‘Bella’ plants at the top of the photo have not fully absorbed their old leaves.  I will leave this pot dry and hope the ‘Bella’s’ absorb their leaves before the Dorotheae’s get too thirsty 😉
